The gold price just had another big day, as it’s currently up $100 again to $3,343. The latest staggering $100 plus gold price gain in what feels like it’s now becoming a regular occurrence.

The silver futures were up on Monday as well, by a modest 42 cents to $32.67. Although on a percentage basis, silver again lagged gold, as silver rose by 1.30% versus gold’s 3.09%.

However, for today's column I'm going to share a note I came across over the weekend, which in the least is incredibly intriguing. And in the case that it is actually representative of what’s happening behind the scenes, then it would be truly paradigm changing.

As you may be aware, I’m a big admirer of Luke Gromen and his research. And in his latest fantastic weekly column he referenced a post from a fund manager named Michael McNair, regarding what the Trump team could conceivably be doing in the gold market behind the scenes.

To be clear, I can’t offer you a confirmation that what this gentleman speaks about is accurate and actually playing out as suggested. But it does feel more and more as if the Trump team knows more than they’re letting on, and in terms of what Michael says here, I also wouldn't sell the put at zero.
