Ever since Trump was elected, the tariff issue has dominated the financial markets, and the gold and silver markets as well. And while Trump initially enacted the tariffs (including against Mexico - the world’s largest silver producer), but then just a few days later put those plans on pause, one of the primary questions that’s emerged is just how much silver actually gets exported into the US from Mexico.
Unfortunately it’s not as simple of a calculation as it may initially seem (for reasons described below), although I mentioned on Monday that I would try to get an estimate of just how much silver we’re looking at, and I was able to get some information from The Silver Institute and Metals Focus.
